TEHRAN (Petroiran) -- A memorandum of understanding on the development of joint research and technological cooperation in the technology ecosystem of the oil industry was signed between the heads of the Oil Industry Technology and Innovation Park (OTP) and Petro-Iran Development Company.
After signing the document, Mohammad Ismail Kefayati, the OTP CEO, said: “In the year named as the year of supporting knowledge-based companies, the OTP is one of the patrons of knowledge-based firms in the country and has planned to create a network of knowledge-based companies for oil industry under the title of “Tavan.”
Stating that the purpose of creating this network is to speed up the knowledge-based development of the oil industry and synergy, he added: “We are looking for an engineering movement in the oil industry and networking can help this goal. In this regard, "Tavan" can solve many of our problems and meet the needs of the oil industry.”
The OTP head continued: “This model is one of the very good models that the OTP is looking for. This park needs special groups in networking in order to speed up this network, among which Petro-Iran Development Company can be mentioned.”
Kafayati said: “Petro-Iran is one of the very good companies under the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), which can help speed up the networking. Petro-Iran has completed many large-scale projects and has a good track record in implementing projects. We hope that we can establish a new model in the oil industry with a very good interaction and cooperation in the near future.”
Sepehr Sepehri, the CEO of Petro-Iran, said: "We hope that by signing this memorandum in the year that the Supreme Leader pays attention to production, job creation and attention to knowledge-based companies, we will be able to support the views of senior officials in recent years."
He added: “With the support provided by OTP, we as an exploration and production company as well as a large general contractor in the field of oil and gas industry, … plan to attract knowledge-based companies by creating an innovation center and entrust them with major projects.”
He said: “We hope that with the support of OTP, the path that has been being paved for several years in the development of Petro-Iran regarding the support of knowledge-based companies, will speed up and come to fruition and bring good and blessing to be the system and the country.”
