TEHRAN (PEDCO) -- In a remarkable feat, the DCI-1 drilling rig broke the record for offshore relocation by covering a distance of over 650 kilometers in just five days to reach its new location.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs division, Hamidreza Saqafi, the CEO of Drilling Company International Limited, announced this achievement and highlighted that following the successful EPDF Siri project, DCI embarked on its first major venture for the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.
Saqafi stated, "The DCI-1 drilling rig, while shattering previous records for relocation, traveled approximately 350 nautical miles (over 650 kilometers) from the Siri region to the Forouzan area, and this transition was completed in just five days. It is now commencing drilling operations for a developmental well in the Forouzan F-19 oil field.

He added, "After the successful completion of the EPDF Siri project and the client's satisfaction with the performance of our drilling equipment and our technical and engineering teams, the DCI-1 drilling rig is now on lease with the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.
