TEHRAN (PEDCO) -- The CEO of the Drilling Company International (DCI) announced installation of the DCI-2 drilling rig next to the Nasr 6 satellite platform near Siri Island.
He said: "We are currently preparing to start drilling operations on the wells of this platform.
"
Hamidreza Saghafi, who was at the site and conducted the operation, said: "Technically, this operation can be considered as one of the unique placements in the Persian Gulf region given the technical limitations of the platform in terms of dimensions as well as problems in the seabed and unpredictable behavior of the seabed which made mooring difficult.”
He also stated that due to the very short distance between the DCI-2 drilling rig and the satellite platform, there was a risk of collision with the satellite platform.
Saghafi also hailed Mr. Sepehri, the CEO of the Petroiran Development Company Limited (PEDCO), for his assistance in the operation, adding 3 barges were used for the installation of operation of the rig.
The CEO of Drilling Company International stated: "Currently, this operation has been successfully completed and the drilling rig has been fully installed 100at the drilling site and is preparing to start drilling operations on the wells of this satellite platform."
An EPDF contract for developing Sivand and Esfand fields in Siri Island, as the first package of plans to maintain and increase the production of Iranian fields, was concluded between the Iranian Offshore Oil Company and Petroiran Development Company Limited, based on which 13 wells In a period of 20 months will be spudded, adding 16,000 barrels per day to their daily output.
