Mansourabad Development eyed by Relying on Domestic Providers
Date:5/10/2024

MANSOURABAD (PEDCO) - In a strategic move to bolster domestic production, the project supervisor of the Mansourabad oil field expansion and maintenance project has announced procurement of all necessary goods from reputable domestic suppliers.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Office of PEDCO Development Group, Hossein Sadeghian, the project supervisor, emphasized the significance of supporting domestic production in the drilling sector, particularly in procuring essential items for both drilling operations and surface facilities, including electric pumps and oil and gas separators.

"The Mansourabad project has purchased necessary items from reputable domestic suppliers," Sadeghian said, indicating that the project, comprising 28 reservoirs, aims to increase oil production to 21,000 barrels per day alongside gas collection and production.

Highlighting the complexity of the underground section of the project, Sadeghian noted technical challenges faced in the development. Despite these hurdles, the project has made significant progress, completing the drilling of seven wells, ranking first in the number of wells drilled by a single company in the 28-reservoir project.

Sadeghian also underscored the project's commitment to environmental management, especially given its proximity to agricultural lands near Behbahan city, ensuring proper waste management and environmental protection measures.

However, he acknowledged challenges such as currency fluctuations, increased drilling costs, and delays caused by lengthy bureaucratic processes and resource shortages.

He expressed hope for continued support from stakeholders to overcome these challenges and successfully complete the project within the planned 24-month timeframe.

The Mansourabad oil field project represents a vital step towards enhancing Iran's oil production capabilities, with a keen focus on utilizing domestic resources and expertise to achieve self-sufficiency in the oil and gas sector.
