TEHRAN (PEDCO) - A specialized session on digital transformation and its impact on productivity and sustainability in the oil and gas industry was held during the 28th Iran International Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and Refining Exhibition, hosted by PetroIran Development Company (PEDCO).
This specialized session took place in the Isfahan Hall of the Tehran International Exhibition Center. The event aimed to explore the latest digital advancements and their applications in the oil and gas sector, focusing on enhancing productivity and ensuring sustainability.
Hassan Ghasemzadeh, President of the Iranian Geomechanics Association, delivered a keynote speech on geo-energy engineering and hydraulic fracturing.
He emphasized the importance of readiness for changes aligned with reducing carbon dioxide emissions in energy production and consumption.
Ghasemzadeh highlighted that for Iran to capitalize on these opportunities, universities must engage more actively, and there should be a move towards privatizing the energy sector.
He proposed the establishment of a geo-energy engineering discipline to meet the industry’s specialized needs.
Following this, Ali Fahim, a member of the faculty at the University of Tehran, presented on the applications of artificial intelligence in enhancing drilling performance.
He detailed how AI can be leveraged to improve efficiency and productivity in drilling operations.
Esmaeili, a faculty member at Razi University, also spoke at the session, introducing the optical geophone and discussing its technical specifications. His presentation provided insights into the innovative product and its potential applications in the industry.
The session underscored the critical role of digital transformation in modernizing the oil and gas sector, improving operational efficiency, and promoting sustainability amidst evolving environmental standards.
